Here at Complete Dental Care we typically use filings to treat and repair small to medium sized cavities. While a filling is intended to last a long time, no filling can stand the rigors of time. In general, larger, older fillings are even more likely to fall out.

Sometimes you might be able to notice a filling that is about to go bad. This is usually associated with increased sensitivity, pain when chewing, or a change in color and texture. In other instances there is no warning sign at all.

If you notice one of your fillings is in trouble or has fallen out, one of our skilled dentists will be happy to treat and repair it. Drs. Doyle, Plantz, Bartok, and Heifer are ready to restore your tooth before the compromised enamel fractures–or continues to decay–leading to even more serious complications.

If the filling was small, our dentists might be able to repair it by removing a small amount of enamel and cementing a new filling into the healthy enamel. However, if it was a large filling, or if new decay has compromised too much of the tooth enamel, they might recommend that the tooth be restored with a crown.

If you have recently lost a filling, or if you suspect one is going bad, please call Complete Dental Care in Martins Ferry, Ohio at 866-471-4028 to have it treated as soon as possible. Our goal is to help you have the best possible quality oral care!
